Orotig Laser Welders Taster Appointments

The Jewellers Academy are pleased to announce , that a selection of Orotig’s latest laser welders and engraving machines suited for the jewellery sector have now been installed at the workshops here at The Jewellers Academy , Yorkshire ...who now are the sole UK and Ireland distributors ,Training Center & service agents for Orotig a world leader in laser technology. The Trainers are currently receiving up to date training from Orotig’s instructors on these latest models and we will keep everyone updated on the progress !!

Derek Boyd founder of the Academy said “ I’ve manufactured and repaired jewellery for over 25 years using an open gas torch flame but laser welding has vast capabilities within the jewellery sector .....easy to understand the workings of the machines , simple to use , very safe & clean and very economical ..... for anyone in the trade whether starting off or having been in it for a lifetime we strongly recommend for you to book an appointment with one of our trainers for a few hours so you may try it for yourself .... you will not be disappointed at the quality of both the machine and the weld “

We will be offering taster appointments on Saturday/Sundays in the new year and are currently booked out until February 13th ... all taster appointments are at minimal cost , duration approx 2 hrs and all Covid precautions will be adhered to ....

We regret to inform you that due to a rise in COVID cases around the UK we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel all scheduled classes at The Jewellers Academy Training Center for 2020. The decision came with the health and safety of students, instructors, and staff in mind. We know how important education is to help one upskill thus providing better career prospects so we will be looking into increasing free content to provide you the best information possible until classes can resume. We will also seek out new opportunities to connect with you and provide greater value to your work at your bench. A difficult point in making our decision was knowing you may have already made arrangements with your employers or staff so you could attend your designated course, and we apologize for the inconvenience that this will cause. Please note that when we re-launch early 2021 the 66 registered names we have on our books will receive a 30 % discount on tuition fees for all long and short courses for the first six months.

We will be launching our Tools and Equipment distribution business in the coming months , with the latest Laser welding/cutting , micro-welders, Engraving , Jewellery tools , gemmology equipment etc from the leading global brands all under one roof in an active workshop so one may experience each piece of equipment ‘hands on’ . Appointments only, Finance for workshop upgrades will be made available. Final Stages Of Restoration

The Bridlington based Academy will become a service centre encompassing a quality and first class support to our service users as well as the capabilities of creating employment in the local area. We undoubtedly retain the best names in the industry and in order to maintain this credibility we have decided to now close the door to other brands signing up as we have been inundated with interest. The untimely arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic has delayed our launch of the training centre. The government guidelines around social distancing has strongly influenced our decision to proceed with phase 2 of the business model earlier than anticipated. The Distribution Centre is set to revolutionize the “Try before you buy” concept. Exciting times are ahead. Welcome on board Orotig- we are thrilled to have you."
