Our New Online Training Courses Are Launching In Oct 2026
The Jewellers Academy Yorkshire is delighted to announce that the launch period for our completely new live-stream commercial training platform begins on Friday 23rd October 2026.
After years of development, a large investment, testing and rebuilding the way we believe online jewellery training can be delivered, we are finally ready to open the doors.
The courses will cover a range of jewellery and watch repair, restoration and manufacture, and we will provide information on the various tools, equipment and materials recommended for each course.
FREE TASTER SESSIONS — OCTOBER TO DECEMBER
From 23rd October through to December 2026, we will be offering a series of FREE online taster sessions for people interested in experiencing the new platform. We want you to see how it works before committing to anything.
These sessions also give us an invaluable opportunity to test the system under genuine live conditions, identify any glitches and listen to constructive feedback before the full programme begins. We already believe we have created something very different, but we know it can become even better with the input of the people who will actually use it.
There will also be prizes for some of the best and most constructive feedback received during the launch period.
WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO CHANGE?
We believe many aspects of traditional online jewellery training are ready for an upgrade.
Our aim has been to take the standards and commercial approach of our multi-award-winning 40-week Academy courses and create an online experience that feels much closer to actually being inside the workshop.
New Online 40 Week Course
A New Way To Learn In The Jewellery Trade
For over 25 years, The Jewellers Academy Yorkshire has trained jewellers, goldsmiths and watchmakers using practical commercial training systems developed from Swiss and British trade methods.
Launching in October 2026, our new platform will allow students worldwide to join our workshop live each week through a professionally produced multi-camera broadcast featuring up to 25 cameras, close-up demonstrations, real time bench work to include direct instructor access within a scheduled segment on the day of production.
Weekly Format Over 40 Weeks | One Day Per Week
• Four Hour Live Stream Delivery
• Followed By A Short Break Before A One Hour (Fifth Hour) Live Q&A Session Relating To That Week
• Guest Trade Experts And Four Selected Applicants Appearing Live
• Project Work & Assessments To Include Damage & Repair
• Monthly Live Meeting/Behind The Scenes With Instructors
• Global Student Community With A Modern Approach
Throughout the year, leading Goldsmiths, Setters, Engravers, Manufacturers and Trade Specialists from around the world will join the live stream to share professional techniques, insights and industry knowledge. Students may also be selected for live bench critiques, where instructors review work and provide direct feedback during classes.

We will release more information soon, but for now, here are some some details of how the online courses will work.

We are a private specialist training centre providing training and upskilling focusing on repair and restoration around all allied trades related to the UK jewellery industry, including goldsmithing, Gemology, Watchmaking, engraving, CAD Design, diamond setting etc.

Our Jewellery Repair, Restoration & Manufacture 40 Week Course is designed for people with limited to no experience in the trade, teaching you the fundamentals and building your skills throughout the course.

Due to current global disruption and fluctuating material costs, we are still working on confirming these details.

No, tools are not included in the course price. We can supply full professional tool kits through our partner Pepe Tools and we will supply a list of the required tools as well.

We want the courses to be as flexible and accessible as possible so we will offer flexible payment options as well as possible finance options.

For students on the interactive Diploma course. You will be able to submit questions relevant to that weeks class in the chat where our team will answer, provide links to our pre-recorded demonstrations and relay commonly asked questions to our instructors who will be able to answer live.

There will be opportunity for some students who would like to be featured, to apply to show their work for a live critique from the instructors.

Students on the Diploma course will send in their work periodically to be assessed by our instructors and postage will be covered by The Jewellers Academy.
